Two cracking shows by the relentless touring duo from Brighton. Laura-Mary is still so gorgeously mistreating her guitar and Steven is pounding his drums as ever. No cheat, no pose. Nice having so much noise being only two.
Night : a straightforward high-energy show from NY small venue, The Bowery Electric. Hardly a pause between songs, giving the few people present not much time to get their breath back or to cheer and holler their support. Maybe too "dazed and confused" to do so.
Day : lower video quality but dear to me as I was part of the front rows that day. It was nice and well-deserved to see them finally hit the main stage on a scorching early afternoon, after coming four times to the festival. Steven pointed out the fact by the end of the show and Laura-Mary even hammered it in saying this is one of their favourite festivals. So, smashing felt concert from both sides.

Enjoy !

Cheers !

So, thanks to "bug1408" you can now fully appreciate one the best shows I have (at least, one of my favourite - top 3, no question !) THIS IS definitely the concert I've watched the most, about 30-40 times maybe and I never get sick of it ! Everything's tight and perfect here ! Hutch's clear-cut voice, Katy's bouncing round bass,Westin's hectic rhythm, too happy for joining the band ! All fired away at Ramones-like pace (19 songs in 55 mns !!) - Everybody seems to have a whale of a time. The band, who's nicely playing in the golden daylight of a late afternoon and the responsive audience, who even sings along before Hutch starts singing "Now We Can See" (much to his surprise and making him smile). As extras, the KXP session is still HD and goes round the tracks from their "Personal Life" album. The greatest news for the end : the new album, "Desperate Ground", is coming out april 2013 ... and it is definitely "loud and fast" again !!!!
Enjoy !
Cheers !

Another thundering set by our Belgian power trio, back home, at the AB, following the release of their "All This Dancin' Around" LP. In front of a packed supporting crowd, our shooters are on top form. Ruben's voice and guitar are still stunningly extensive, Mario's solo just before "Little Teaser" is one of the most devastating one I've heard from him and Monsieur Paul's bass sounds as well, particularly heavy here ! So does the performance of "My Baby's Got A Gun" when, after the sweet bluesy start, a pulsating electricity blitzkrieg falls upon you !!
As the end of the concert closes in on the moving Ray Charles's cover from the album, I've tried to keep up the magic with a "covers corner" in which Ruben's voice turns the various-era songs into gold classics, provided they were not yet so. Particularly impressive on Dylan's "Ballad Of A Thin Man", lavishly delivered  in an incarnate version by Ruben The Voice. Thrills ahead !
Triggerfinger has always been terrific on covers (which shows well their openmindedness - see also their chart n°1 cover of Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers'). Here, their second cover of Rihanna is again no exception. The video quality is lower than the other ones but I've chosen to keep it as I haven't found any other pro-shot video of the song. It is comfortably watchable nonetheless and the performance, with his Led Zep's Kashmir intro, is awesome (as you can hear it coming from the audience) !
The last section of the dvd is granted by a nice 2012 interview in which each members dig up their early years in life and in their budding starts as musicians. Really interesting and DON'T MISS Monsieur Paul's punchline at the end. Just hilarious !! :-)
Enjoy !
Cheers!
