Let's be poppy ! Ok, I can feel your dubious first reaction. "He just wants to feast his eyes with the gorgeous singer" Partly right ! (look at the shots in the Lowlands video ! The guys at the camera are definitely men !!) But, I must admit, I do also like "Vive La Fête" simply because they don't try to fool themselves and just are what they are. Initially formed by Danny Mommens (ex Deus) and Els Pynoo (God ! What planet does this girl come from ?!!!), the band produces a catchy pop electro that always sounds uninhibited and optimistic. It feels good sometimes ! Influenced by the 80s new-wave for him (see a typical recent cover from the heyday, here !) and by Serge Gainsbourg for her, the words are ... well ... let's say innocent and snappy but this is what brings charm to the band.
Unfortunately, I spend hours on this but I couldn't find any high quality
(don't mention hd !) VLF concerts on the net. So, these are definitely 2 dvds that
are a better watch on your computer screen rather than on your brand new hd tv.
There are also some freezes and glitches at times. But, the music is still
there !
So, if ANYONE, here, has a great quality full concert from "Vive La
Fête", or even, the initial broadcast (on a Belgian channel ?) of these 2
shows please, let me know !! Even if it takes quite a while, I'm ready to start
the whole thing all over ! Thanx and enjoy !

NB : some of the menus have been made from photos taken from my first
visit to "Vive La Fête" on
stage, last year, at Pukkelpop. Great memory and persistence of vision ! :-)
